Our History

Leading in Faith began in the hearts of Jacob and Micah Brooks when they were both young and walking different paths of service, leadership, and community impact. Jacob gained experience working with LYS (Louisiana Youth Seminar), a long-standing leadership program that equips young people with the skills, confidence, and vision to become impactful leaders. Through this experience, he witnessed firsthand how mentorship and structured leadership development can transform the lives of youth and shape future educators, professionals, and community leaders.

Micah’s journey centered around community advocacy and service through her involvement with organizations such as the Bay Area Women Coalition. Through this work, she supported efforts focused on providing affordable housing, strengthening underserved communities, and improving access to education, health resources, and cultural enrichment programs. Her passion has always been rooted in creating safer, stronger, and more equitable communities where families and youth can thrive.

Although their paths were different, Jacob and Micah shared a common heart for service, faith, and the empowerment of young people. Both developed a deep desire to not only support their communities but to create lasting change through intentional mentorship, outreach, and faith-driven leadership.

In the summer of 2025, they came together with a shared vision after recognizing a growing need in Stockton, Alabama, where their church, Triumph Holiness Church, is located. Seeing the lack of structured faith-based youth programs and consistent community support, they founded Leading in Faith to fill that gap.

Today, Leading in Faith exists to empower youth and families through faith-based outreach, leadership development, and community engagement, continuing the mission that began with two separate journeys and one united calling to serve.
